In 1964, Dr. Georg Goodheart, an American chiropractor, first discovered the links between muscles and the meridians of the Chinese acupuncture system and created a technique he termed Applied Kinesiology. Other variants of Kinesiology were introduced in the early 1980s. Even though the practice of Kinesiology is only now becoming available in Thailand, it’s one of the fastest-growing forms of complementary medicine in Australia, the U.S., U.K., Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Kamonwan is the first qualified Holistic Kinesiologist practicing in Thailand. She received her Diploma of Health Science in Holistic Kinesiology from the Australian College of Complementary Medicine in Melbourne.

What is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology is a unique natural therapy that uses the muscles and their movement as a biofeedback mechanism to identify stress patterns and areas of imbalance in the body’s energy systems. It brings together Eastern and Western healing modalities by combining Chinese healing principles with anatomy, physiology and psychology.

In a Kinesiology session, the practitioner applies gentle pressure on a selected muscle. Muscle testing provides information about energetic imbalances in the body, whether they manifest on the emotional, mental or physical level. The muscles also link to the acupuncture meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as well as to the body’s subtle energy fields and chakras (energy centers).

As a holistic natural healing modality, Kinesiology looks at the individual as a whole being and treats the person - not just their disease. Practitioners of western medicine now concur that good health results not just from physical wellness, but from emotional, mental and spiritual harmony. Kamonwan firmly believes in this holistic approach and in her professional practice has witnessed first-hand how most physical symptoms link back to an emotional or mental cause. Physical symptoms are often merely the outward manifestations of larger internal imbalances. Kinesiology can help identify and clarify these underlying issues so you can make the changes required to heal yourself and your life.

Kinesiology is unique because unlike other modalities, it integrates a variety of healing tools which combined together yield more benefits than any one single technique. SomeoftheKinesiologytechniques used for clearing stress and balancing energy include: acupressure points, flower essence, sound (tuning forks), color, visualization and affirmation. The goal of a treatment is to gently release internal blockages and restore a balanced state of well-being that promotes harmony and inner balance.

The benefits of Kinesiology treatment are many and varied. Kamonwan has helped people with different problems ranging from physical (aches/pains, fatigue, digestive problems, infertility, and learning difficulties and memory problems, etc.) to emotional (stress, fear, anxiety, depression, addiction and insomnia). Kinesiology also addresses other areas such as relationship issues, life changes etc.

Simply stated, Kinesiology acts as a shortcut to accessing underlying physical and mental issues and uses powerful techniques to clear the resultant stress. Following treatment, clients often comment they feel much lighter and have clearer insights into their problems. They feel better able to cope with stress or perceive a formerly troubling problem in a new light. For many, the effects are profound and life changing. Kinesiology works for people at almost any age, from young children on up. Currently, Kamonwan’s youngest clients are 12 years old and the oldest is 72.
